Fajalauza, five centuries of Granada's most traditional ceramics.

The pottery known today as "de Fajalauza" has documented origins dating back to the early 16th century, although it probably already existed by the end of the 15th century. This craft was developed by the Morales family, who arrived in Granada after the Christian conquest, although their place of origin is unknown. A unique ceramic style emerged in the city, influenced by medieval traditions from places such as Catalonia, Teruel, Úbeda, Triana, and Talavera. The first workshop was established outside the city walls, next to the Fajalauza Gate, on the site where the Convent of San Antonio would later be built (1636).
